He made his first scribbles at such an early age he could barely pick up a pen, and had his first “professional” work published in 1976, when he was only four. Finding no motivation in his relatives’ praises on his “knack for drawing”, he let the adolescent materialism lead him to a Business Degree and a career as a financial consultant. Later on, forgetting everything he’d learned, he put it all behind and opened a comic shop in order to reconnect with his childhood daydreams. From 2006 on, he devoted himself to publishing and creating comics, particularly as an editor, writer, designer, letterer and translator, having surrounded himself with some of today’s best Portuguese authors, with whom he’s been sharing awards, nominations and critical acclaim. He organized the AniComics Festival from 2010 to 2017, and he was one of the promoters of the Comic Con Portugal Comic Awards. For his work on “Fossils of Beautiful Souls” (2015), he won the Best Writer Award at the National Comics Awards AmadoraBD 2016. He lives in Lisbon with his wife Fátima and three cats, Mel, Violeta and Bolota.
